We have two types of wooden earrings – black wood + brass from Bombolulu Workshops, Mombasa, Kenya; and wooden marquetry earrings from Silence Workshops in Kolkata, India. The woods that Silence use are: gamhar, pine, padauk, and mango, skillfully cut and finished with a light varnish to complement the natural beauty of the wood. If you love trees, and who doesn’t, then this is a high value use of their wood, providing much needed income for differently abled producers.
